After years on the sidelines, nuclear energy is firmly back in focus. Investment momentum is building fast.
As global power demand surges from electrification, AI data centers, and grid instability, governments, utilities, and private capital are turning to nuclear for what few sources can offer… reliable, baseload, carbon-free power at scale.
One recent standout raise came from Last Energy, which secured $100M in Series C funding to expand its modular reactor platform aimed at industrial and data center customers.
At the larger end of the market, TerraPower raised $650M from investors including NVIDIA’s venture arm and HD Hyundai, showing sustained confidence from both tech and industrial leaders.
But the real story may lie in the emerging players. Startups like Antares are raising fresh capital to develop distributed and small reactor technologies built for modern needs. Many are backed by top-tier VCs and focused on building faster, more flexible systems for energy-intensive sectors.
Beyond venture funding, major public-private commitments are accelerating too. Groups like Brookfield, Cameco, and Westinghouse are channeling tens of billions into reactor life extensions and next-gen deployment across the US and Europe.
Most of the innovation today is centered on Small Modular Reactors and other advanced technologies. These offer faster timelines, lower upfront costs, and more adaptable use cases for industrial and off-grid environments.
At Intelletec Energy, we’re seeing this shift firsthand. With deep experience supporting VC-backed emerging tech clients across climate, hardware, and AI… we’re now helping many of these new nuclear ventures build out the teams they need. From mechanical and electrical engineers to nuclear specialists and project delivery experts, demand is scaling quickly.
Nuclear’s resurgence is not about replacing renewables. It’s about strengthening the mix and solving for stability at scale. With capital continuing to flow into the sector, nuclear is becoming a core pillar of the next-generation clean energy economy.
