Position: Field Services Technician
Reports to: Field Services Supervisor
Our Client is seeking a Field Services Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently completing field assignments involving the installation, repair, and oil processing of energized and de-energized transformers in high-voltage substations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field repairs on high-voltage transformers
- Perform transformer vacuum filling
- Obtain accurate insulating fluid samples from high-voltage transformers
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Maintain vehicles to company standards
- Keep proper records of accountability and Per Diem
- Install our products, including InsulMax®, DryMax®, and SampleSafe®
Qualifications:
- Possession of CDL (or willingness to obtain) with a clean driving record as per company policy and insurability
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, integrity, initiative, and confidentiality
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, company departments, and fellow team members
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Capacity to work independently with strong initiative and follow-through abilities
- Proficiency in problem analysis and resolution at a tactical level
- Basic computer skills
Education and Experience:
High school diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
2-5 years of related experience with knowledge of transformer field service equipment and maintenance preferred
Physical Demands:
- Sitting/driving for extended periods
- Standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching
- Speaking and listening
- Ability to travel via air or land overnight and/or for extended periods of time as required by company, utilizing various modes of transportation including tractor trailer, box truck, pick-up truck, van, and air.
