Role:

In this role, inspectors will conduct regular quality assessments of electrical, mechanical, and civil systems, as well as associated equipment, across individual utility-scale solar sites. They will meticulously document and submit inspection reports to their direct supervisor for review. Communication with the site manager and the quality control team will be paramount, requiring concise updates on project progress through various digital platforms. Identifying and promptly reporting quality concerns to supervisors and site managers for effective resolution is a core responsibility. Successful candidates will immerse themselves in industry standards for safety and quality, demonstrating dedication to ongoing learning and adherence to evolving solar tracker and fixed solar mounted standards.

  • Perform inspections of electrical, mechanical, and civil systems at utility-scale solar sites.
  • Record accurate measurements of electrical termination and mechanical equipment torque specifications on-site.
  • Ensure installations adhere to manufacturer and industry guidelines.
  • Organize inspection documentation from both internal and subcontractor sources.
  • Conduct walkthroughs with subcontractors and site managers for mechanical and electrical inspections.
  • Manage third-party testing and calibration services as scheduled.
  • Support commissioning and post-commissioning activities as needed.
  • Maintain company-supplied tools, equipment, and vehicles in optimal condition.
  • Promote workplace safety and contribute to enhancing safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with NEC/NFPA codes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Professional engagement with personnel and contractors.
  • Willingness to work on-call shifts, weekends, and in outdoor environments.
  • Current VA certified journeyman electrician license or higher preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and OSHA 10/30-hour Certification.
