Project Developer - Hydrogen

Job description


Our client is a hydrogen project development platform who are responsible for all of the pre-construction development for green hydrogen projects. This includes permitting, land rights, long term hydrogen supply contracts and the list goes on.

They are looking for a very experienced project developer to join their small and successful team. The role is remote, although we would favor candidates based in Houston or San Diego there is also stock options as well as project related bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hydrogen project development from ideation to FID, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility assessments to evaluate project viability and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project development and execution.
  • Engage key stakeholders to foster strategic partnerships and support project advancement.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory developments.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience in development, origination, finance etc
  • 1+ year working on hydrogen projects.
  • Knowledge of the full-cycle of power project development: interconnection process, permitting, real estate, state/federal regulation, policy, law, power marketing, and other topics
  • Strong understanding of large project operations
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (no more than 25%)
