The company is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to safely and efficiently perform field assignments, which include installing, repairing, and processing oil in energized and de-energized transformers within high-voltage substations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct field repairs on high-voltage transformers.
- Perform vacuum filling of transformers.
- Collect accurate insulating fluid samples from high-voltage transformers.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Maintain company vehicles in accordance with company standards.
- Keep a proper record of accountability and per diem.
- Install the company's products such as InsulMax®, DryMax®, and SampleSafe®.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (or willingness to obtain), clean driving record according to company policy, and insurable.
- Strong work ethic, high integrity, initiative, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, different departments, and colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative and follow-through.
- Solid problem analysis and resolution skills at a tactical level.
- Basic computer skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years of related experience with knowledge of transformer field service equipment and maintenance is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Environments can range from clean to industrial, such as chemical or steel plants.
- Work is primarily outdoors.
- Exposure to live electrical substations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or drive for extended periods.
- Activities like standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, speaking, and listening.
- Ability to travel overnight and/or for extended periods via various modes of transportation, including tractor-trailers, box trucks, pickup trucks, vans, and planes.
