Company Background:

The organization is a newly established startup focused on the development and sale of large-scale battery storage projects. They are currently seeking a Director of Project Development to assist with their existing portfolio of large-scale battery storage projects in the PJM, Pacific Northwest, MISO, SPP, Southeast, and Southwest regions. If you possess 7+ years of experience in developing large-scale renewable energy projects, this opportunity might be suitable for you.

Position Overview:As the Director of Project Development, you will be responsible for leading the development efforts for the organization's expanding asset portfolio across all regions. Your background should include extensive experience in renewable energy project development, as well as expertise in managing projects throughout the entire development lifecycle. Additionally, you will oversee the work of one or more junior project developers. While remote work is an option, the company does have offices in Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate a pipeline of battery storage project assets within the portfolio to support the development objectives and strategy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in renewable energy development, encompassing permitting, interconnection, real estate, commercial, regulatory, and site design aspects related to solar energy and battery storage projects.
  • Effectively communicate with vendors, project partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines, budgets, and goals.
  • Professionally represent the organization to various parties, including landowners, vendors, local officials, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher education is required.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in developing community-scale renewable energy projects, with a preference for solar projects.
  • Strong development experience across various Independent System Operators (ISOs) is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in mentoring, developing, and training junior team members.
  • Proficiency in managing projects throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Salary:

Base salary of $180,000-$200,000 per year, plus a bonus structure.
