Renewable Energy Technician

Job description

Our client is a leading energy infrastructure organization focused on developing, constructing, and operating energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Established in 2017, the company is a national pioneer in energy storage deployment, harnessing its proprietary dispatch optimization applications to support merchant and contracted structures. Currently, our client is constructing approximately 700 megawatt-hours, with plans for 12 GW of projects in development between 2022 and 2026. Notably, they have the financial backing of Encap Investments, L.P.’s Energy Transition Fund.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic work in the construction and maintenance of all substations, transmission, collection system, and battery storage systems
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance and resolution with protections and control equipment and relay schemes
  • Reports and coordinates emergency response and repair to all high voltage equipment and BESS systems
  • Establishes and maintains high-voltage inventory, equipment, tooling, and vehicles
  • BOP operations and construction, including substation equipment and BESS equipment
  • LOTO training and proficiency
  • Operate the facility in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Supports emergency response during after-hour call-outs
  • Interface and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and landowners
  • Able to understand, read, and high voltage electrical schematics
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and market requirements
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 4 years’ High Voltage electrical experience
  • Experience using and understanding diagnostic tools
  • Computer operation skills, familiarity with internet-based program navigation, and the ability to generate and interpret computer data
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics with attention to detail
  • Ability to follow safety protocols on site
  • Effectively communicate with third parties, vendors, and co-workers


Compensation and benefits offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. A relocation stipend will be offered if the candidate does not currently live in Crane County and would need to move from another city.

The position will be based in Crane County, TX, and must travel to support all assets in operations and under construction. If an applicant is selected as a final candidate for the position, the applicant will be subject to a background check before a final employment offer can be extended to the applicant.
