Intelletec has partnered with a private commodity trading firm specializing in physical trading and supply chain management of various commodities. They are looking for a Director of Data Science, with working knowledge of the US Power markets.
As Data Scientist, Director you will have experience with the US Power markets as they relate to Data Science, technical proficiency in Python, and experience with machine algorithms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy predictive models for commodity price forecasting and trading signals using data science techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve trading strategies, optimize operations, and enhance risk management processes.
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources for analysis and modeling.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and visualization to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in complex and diverse datasets.
- Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making and provide actionable insights for traders and management.
- Communicate technical results to non-technical stakeholders and make recommendations based on the findings.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in data science,
- machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Skills:
- Solid understanding of US Power Markets and Data Science.
- Strong technical skills in python and experience with machine learning algorithms.
- Strong data management skills, including experience with SQL and data processing
- pipelines.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Matplotlib.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a trading environment or a similar fast-paced, dynamic industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
- At least 3 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a track record of delivering impactful solutions.
